Health Tests

Your Health, Measured

Bodisync is privileged to partner with Melio Health to offer you a range of personalized health tests based upon your blood sample, using deep diagnostic knowledge to give you a more active relationship with your health.

Knowledge is Health.

The more you know about your health, the more you can do about your health. And the best source of knowledge is your blood. A blood diagnostic can tell you so much. You can learn about your general health, vitamin levels, cardiovascular risk or even hormonal balance and then choose to take action on your own terms.

This is why we have partnered with Melio Health to bring you this service which also perfectly fits in with our natural treatments and our ethos of whole body balance.

Learn more about what’s going on inside your body and follow your progress over time. Your results are delivered together with a personalised medical interpretation by one of Melio's doctors.

Nutrition

General Health Check Plus

Nutrition

Most people can benefit from having their nutrients checked, but it’s especially important for those on a restrictive diet, such as vegans and vegetarians.

Women planning on becoming pregnant may also want to pay extra attention to certain key nutrients, such as iron, folate and vitamin D.

Most people wouldn’t know they lack any key vitamins or minerals unless they get tested for it. Luckily, most nutritional deficiencies are easily corrected once identified.

Some nutritional deficiencies can have an immediate impact on your quality of life, such as extreme fatigue, headache and weakness caused by low iron levels. But with others the problems can go undetected for decades. Vitamin D deficiency is common in the UK, and can contribute to several problems such as increased susceptibility to infections, depression and weak bones.

 Markers tested include:

  • Vitamins (Folate (B9), D, B12
  • Minerals (Iron, Ferritin, Calcium, Magnesium, Transferrin)
  • Liver Function

Please note that this test should be taken while fasted, and only on weekdays (Monday - Friday).

Vitamin D

Perimenopause Health

Nutrition

Everyone is at risk of being affected, but if you spend a lot of time indoors or have dark skin you’re at an increased risk because you may not make enough vitamin D from sunlight.

Vitamin D insufficiency is common in the UK, but most people don’t know if they’re affected.

Symptoms are vague, and include feeling tired and low on energy, dry skin, and even depression. Vitamin D is also important for a well functioning immune system, and if you’re often getting sick, a lack of vitamin D could be the reason.

Please note that this test should be taken while fasted, and only on weekdays (Monday - Friday).

Heart Health

Perimenopause Health

Perimenopause Health

Did you know that diabetes is also a risk factor for cardiovascular disease? By including blood sugar markers, as well as your inflammation   levels and lifestyle related risk factors, you’ll get a much better assessment of your heart health than a cholesterol test alone.

This test helps you understand your risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It can also help you measure the effects from any lifestyle improvements you make, such as dietary changes, stress reduction or physical activity levels.

The Cardiovascular Risk tests includes 11 health markers to assess the health of your cardiovascular system, blood sugar regulation, inflammation and kidney function.

Please note that this test should be taken while fasted, and only on weekdays (Monday - Friday).

Perimenopause Health

Perimenopause Health

Perimenopause Health

This test measures key hormonal levels and health areas affected by the menopause, such as bone health and cardiovascular risk.

We also check your thyroid hormone levels, as thyroid dysfunction can cause menopause-like symptoms.

Perimenopause is the time when you are transitioning towards menopause, and the hormonal balance starts changing. This can result in menopausal symptoms but can also affect health in other ways, such as increased risk of osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. Perimenopause typically starts in your 40s but can happen earlier or later.

 Markers tested include:

  • Vitamins & Minerals (Calcium, D, Magnesium)
  • Reproductive Hormones (Oestradiol, Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) & Luteinising Hormone (LH)
  • Cardiovascular (High Density, Low Density & Total Cholesterol, Fats)
  • Thyroid Profile

Early Pregnancy Health

Early Pregnancy Health

Early Pregnancy Health

This test measures the actual levels of hCG and progesterone in your blood.

hCG levels in the body quickly rise during the first few weeks of pregnancy. Following the progression of hCG levels and progesterone in the early stages of pregnancy is a way to measure if a pregnancy is developing correctly.

This test is designed for women who want to check that the pregnancy is progressing as expected in the early stages, for instance after IVF treatment or previous miscarriages.

  Markers tested include:

  • Progesterone
  • hCG

Please note that this test should only be taken on weekdays (Monday - Friday). It is recommended to take this test from the first day of the missed menstrual period, or 14 days after embryo transfer for IVF, at the earliest.

Advanced Thyroid Function

Prostrate Specific Antigen

Advanced Thyroid Function

The thyroid is a gland located in the neck that produces hormones regulating our metabolism (how we use and store energy), as well as other bodily functions.

The thyroid affects practically all cells in the body, and has a key role in metabolism, growth, body temperature, sleep and fertility.

Symptoms of weight gain, fatigue, depression and feeling cold, can all be due to an underactive thyroid - the most common thyroid disorder.

A thyroid profile is used to evaluate thyroid function to diagnose and control hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism

It’s estimated around 1 in 20 people in the UK have some kind of thyroid disorder.  With thyroid autoantibodies included you can learn if a thyroid problem is due to autoimmune disease.

  Markers tested include:

  • Triiodothyronine (T3), Thyroxine (T4) and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
  • Anti-TPO Antibody Levels
  • Anti-TPO Antibody Status

Please note that this test should only be taken on weekdays (Monday - Friday).

Prostrate Specific Antigen

Prostrate Specific Antigen

Prostrate Specific Antigen

A raised PSA level in your blood may be a sign of prostate cancer, but it can also be a sign of other conditions. As the risk of prostate cancer increases with age, the test is primarily recommended for men over the age of 50, or over 45 in combination with other risk factors.

PSA (prostate-specific antigen) is a protein produced by the prostate, with high levels often associated with prostate cancer.

Before taking a PSA test, it is important that you understand both its benefits and limitations. The PSA test can miss prostate cancer, and a raised level can be due to other causes, such as increased age, prostate size, infection or inflammation, and vigorous exercise.

Please note that this test should only be taken on weekdays (Monday - Friday).
