UKAS-accredited PCR swab tests for COVID-19 - RESULTS AVAILABLE IN 4, 12, 24 OR 48 Hours from Testing
PCR swab testing for COVID-19 is the most accurate testing method available for an active infection, with close to 100% accuracy. A simple throat and nose swab can tell you if you are carrying an active infection.
This will help you decide on your medical management and after lock-down is the only sure way to exclude an active infection before visiting elderly relatives or a vulnerable person. You can also use this swab test result certificate if needed for travel and work purposes.
The pioneering test we use for COVID-19 uses patented Randox Biochip Technology to accurately and reliably diagnose COVID-19, thus facilitating appropriate containment and reducing further spread of disease. The biochip comprises two tests for COVID-19; one specific and one confirmatory as recommended by the WHO.
Our rapid testing service is used within the UK government’s national COVID-19 testing programme, with Randox responsible for up to 17% of the total tests carried out.
PCR swab test for COVID-19 at the Clinic
You are welcome to come to the clinic for testing if you are asymptomatic and need the test for travel purpose or to exclude an active infection while asymptomatic. Please do not attend the clinic for 28 days after being symptomatic. After self-isolating, it is unlikely at this stage that your result will be positive so you can opt for a laboratory or instant antibody test instead.
PCR swab test for COVID-19 at Home - Please note rapid testing results (within 4, 12 or 24 Hours) are not available for tests conducted at home.
If you are symptomatic/self-isolating, a swab test kit can be sent to your home. Tests come as kits which contain a swab, collection tube, instructions and return envelope. This will be dispatched the following working day via Royal Mail first class post. Please be aware that the postal system is sometimes slower than normal at present. Therefore, please allow up to 4 working days for receipt of your test kit. You will take your own sample, following the enclosed instructions, then post back in the stamped addressed envelope from any post box. The results will be with you in 2 days once the laboratory has received your sample.
How does the postal service work?

Tell me more about the test
The test is done on a combined throat-nose swab which can tell you if you have an active COVID-19 infection currently. It cannot tell you if you were previously infected. If you want to know if you were previously infected with COVID19, you can opt for an antibody test with us.
COVID-19 PCR swab test for travel purpose
As restrictions on international travel are gradually being lifted, many destination countries require a medical certificate showing proof of a negative test result for Covid-19, either to gain entry or to avoid the need to quarantine. Even in cases where the destination country does not require proof of a negative result, knowing you are coronavirus free before travelling to a foreign country can give you extra peace of mind. Results certificates which can be used to fly will be generated and sent these are sufficient to be able to fly internationally, however for a small additional fee "Fit to Fly Certificates" from a doctor can also be supplied. Please check with your airline or destination country to determine how soon before departure the test has to be taken and processed by the lab.
Destinations include multiple countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. A number of airlines require passengers to produce evidence of a recent negative COVID-19 test prior to flying. Vitalyse by Bodisync can provide self swab COVID-19 PCR tests with results within 4, 12, 24, or 48 hours from when the test was taken at our clinic in Slough Berkshire.
Vitalyse by Bodisync offers the COVID-19 PHE approved IgG Roche test for antibodies to determine if you have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus in the past. It detects only the IgG antibody to SARS-CoV 2.
The COVID-19 coronavirus antibody test is a blood test which detects whether you’ve developed an immune response (antibodies) specifically to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This is useful to show whether you have previously come into contact with the virus or not. Predominantly, it highlights past infection but has some ability to check for current infection. However, due to a limited test window, it does not provide the same level of accuracy as a PCR Swab Test which is the test of choice during an active infection.
Please note this test is only available in our Berkshire clinic and requires a blood sample to be taken.
COVID-19 ANTIBODY TEST FAQ
1. How is the antibody test carried out?
Although home tests kits are available on some websites, the most reliable antibody tests are performed in the laboratory. A simple blood test will be taken at our Berkshire clinic and sent to the lab for analysis.
2. What does a positive result mean?
A positive result indicates that you have antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in your blood. This means it is highly likely that you have been infected with the virus in the past.
3. Does a positive antibody test mean I am immune to COVID-19?
It is not yet known if the presence of antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, means an individual has lasting immunity. This will become clearer over the next few months as we learn more about the virus.
4. What does a negative result mean?
A negative result indicates that you do not have antibodies to SARS-COV-2 in your blood. This means it is unlikely that you have had COVID-19. However, it is important to note that a negative antibody result could mean that you have taken the test too soon after developing symptoms. It can take at least 14 days for the body to produce antibodies at detectable levels.
5. Will a coronavirus antibody test tell me if I have a current infection?
No. The antibody test will not detect a current infection. Antibodies are produced some time after an individual becomes infected.
